Hobbies You Can Do from Your Rise Recline Chair
Getting Crafty
There’s nothing more satisfying than creating something from scratch – so why not get crafty? Let your imagination and creativity run wild and make something to be proud of! From knitting, to crochet, to line drawing or painting, there are lots of ways that you can be creative all from the comfort of your chair. If you feel you could benefit from a little tuition, you can watch tutorials on YouTube, take an online class or join a group in the daytime and then practise at home in the evening. A lap tray or an adjustable over-chair table will give you a nice flat surface for your new hobby.
Perhaps you could get crafty for Christmas and make some cards or presents for friends and family? Knit a scarf or bobble hat, make some beaded jewellery, create felted coasters, or even craft some trinkets from polymer or air-drying clay.
Scrapbooking is another entertaining activity which allows you to collate and preserve some of your treasured memories, providing a great talking point and enabling you to share your story with younger generations of the family.
Chair Workouts
You don’t need to leap around your living room to get your heart pumping and muscles working – there are plenty of seated workouts that you can do which will have great physical benefits. Check out this 10-minute chair workout from The Body Coach, Joe Wicks, famous for keeping the nation moving throughout lockdown with his ‘PE with Joe’ workouts. As Joe says, just 10-minutes of movement can improve your energy levels, lift your mood, loosen your joints and leave you feeling more positive.
There are also chair yoga workouts you can try, which can be very beneficial for strength, mobility and balance.
