Warranty Policy

At Stuart Mobility we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and we hope customers are happy with their purchases.  All our new products come with a manufacturer’s warranty but what does that mean?  What about extending this or what about accidental damage?  Here is a summary of the warranty cover provided by each manufacturer we work with:

Repose Chairs (Prism Healthcare)

All Repose chairs come with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty which covers the frame, mechanism and electrics.  Fabric and foam are covered for 1 year.


Cosi- Chairs (Electric Mobility)

Our Cosi Chairs all come with a 12 month manufacturer’s guarantee. Electric Mobility Euro Limited (the ‘Company’) guarantees its products against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of one year from the date of purchase by the original retail purchaser (the ‘Guarantee Period’). If a defect arises and a valid claim is received within the Guarantee Period, at its option, the Company may either (1) repair the defect at no charge, using new or replacement parts; (2) replace the defective part with a new part or a part that is either the same as, or functionally equivalent to, the original part; (3) replace the product with a new product which is the same as, or at least functionally equivalent to, the original product; or (4) refund the purchase price of the product.


Limited Extended Guarantee on Cosi-Chairs

The 5 year Limited Extended Guarantee applies to the following models: Jubilee, Ambassador, Banwell, Kensey & Medina only. Under the Limited Extended Guarantee, Electric Mobility Euro Limited guarantees the following against manufacturing defects under normal use for a period of three or five years (dependant on model as described above): (1) recliner actions; (2) recliner frames; (3) electric motors; (4) control handsets; (4) power supply units; and (5) electric control units. The Limited Extended Guarantee covers the cost of parts and materials only and does not include labour costs.

Services performed by the Electric Mobility Euro Limited in replacing the parts or materials will be subject to additional charges for labour and transportation. The Limited Extended Guarantee does not affect the consumer’s statutory consumer rights or the 12 Month Guarantee. The Limited Extended Guarantee runs concurrently with the 12 Month Guarantee.

Exclusions and Limitations

The 12 Month Guarantee, the Extended Guarantee and the Lifetime Frame Guarantee (the ‘Guarantees’) apply provided only that the guarantee card has been correctly filled out and returned to the Company within 15 days from delivery of the product to the original consumer.

The Guarantees do not apply to the following: (1) damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, earthquake or other external cause; (2) damage caused by operating the product outside the permitted or normal use of the product; (3) damage caused to products that were not operated, maintained or serviced in accordance with the Owner’s Manual; (4) to a product or part that has been modified or repaired otherwise than in accordance with the Owner’s Manual or with the express written authority of the Company; or (5) to normal wear or tear, normal maintenance, service or periodic adjustments necessitated by normal use. In addition to the above, the Company shall be under no liability in respect of any defect arising from wilful damage, negligence, or misuse. The Guarantees only apply to the original purchaser and are non- transferable.

Except in respect of death or personal injury caused by the Company’s negligence, the Company shall not be liable by reason of any representation (unless fraudulent), or any implied warranty, condition or other term, or any duty at common law or under the terms of the Guarantees, for any indirect, special or consequential loss or damage (whether for loss of profit or otherwise), costs, expenses or other claims for compensation whatsoever (whether caused by the negligence of the Company or its employees or otherwise) which arise out of or in connection with the supply of the product(s) or their use or resale, and the entire liability of the Company under or in connection with the products and the Guarantees shall not exceed the price paid for the products.  Any descriptions, specifications, samples, models, bulletins or similar materials used in connection with the sale of products by the Company are only for information and should not be construed as warranties.


Our Primacare chairs come with the following warranty time spans: Metal Action 5 years; Motor/Actuator 5 years; Fabric and Foam 1 year; Wooden frame 1 year; Handset 1 year.

Primacare will repair or replace at their option any of the parts that are found to be faulty in material or manufacture. This warranty only includes transport to and from the original delivery point.

 Excluded from this warranty are:

  • Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence and accidents.
  • Unauthorised repairs and modifications.
  • Consequential damages

The warranty will be deemed invalid if any electrical components have been opened or if any part of the chair has been dismantled or taken apart. Please remember to contact your local dealer if you have any problems or queries with your Primacare chair.


Pride Mobility

There is a 5-year warranty on electrical and mechanical parts, (mechanisms, motors, handsets, transformers, plugs, etc) • Wooden framework • Foam build – including seat foams • Seating springs

All the above are covered providing the product remains with the original purchaser and the product has been used for domestic purposes. It is important that this product has been used in accordance with these operating and care guidelines and has not been misused or damaged.

Please note: Fabric or leather is not covered by the full warranty period, this comes with a standard 12 month guarantee.

Recliners (Suite Options)

Mechanism 45cm – 60cm: 5 years; 65cm and above: 2 years. Mobile mechanisms electric and manual and wall hugger manual and electrical: 2 years. There is a 5-year warranty on all timber framework, subject to fair wear and tear and a 1-year warranty on all fabrics subject to fair wear and tear. Accessories covering heat and massage unit, heat only and reading light: 1 year. Parts will not be covered if deemed to be damaged as a result of misuse/abuse, due to negligence or accidents, unauthorised repairs or modifications of parts or other consequential damage to parts.


Sell-off List on Website

All chairs listed as ‘sell offs’ are sold as seen and do not come with a guarantee and are subject to distance selling regulations if not sold from the Burton-on-Trent premises. Please see our returns policy for details.

Our Extended Warranty

We offer an extended 5-year warranty with accidental damage cover through Staingard*.

This is charged as an optional extra on chairs for use in a domestic home or in self-contained rooms only.

The extra warranty includes:

  • Mechanical & electrical breakdown
    No large repair bill if your product goes wrong.
  • Accidental Damage
    Protecting your equipment from day one against user error and incidents out of your control.
  • The full cost of parts and labour
    We cover the full cost of repair.
  • No Excess
    We don’t require any contribution to a claim where other insurance policies might.

The consumer’s statutory rights are not affected by the Guarantees.
